Ein treuer Diener nimmt in Böhmen im 19. Jahrhundert das Brüderpaar Charles und Alan samt Ehefrauen Diana und Helen auf. Er tötet Alan, lässt ihn, indem er seinen Leib aufschlitzt, über Draculas Asche ausbluten, so dass der Vampir zu Leben erweckt wird. Dracula tötet Helen. Charles und Diana flüchten ins Kloster des Abtes Shandor, der Dracula aufs Eis eines gefrorenen Sees lockt, wo er einbricht und im fließenden Wasser zerstört wird.
In der direkten Fortsetzung des ersten "Dracula"-Films der britischen Hammer Studios spielte Christopher Lee erneut den Vampir mit dem Blutsaugerausch, sprach aber kein einziges Wort Dialog, sondern musste sich auf seine elegante aristokratische Erscheinung verlassen.
Whilst vacationing in the Carpathian Mountain, two couples stumble across the remains of Count Dracula's castle. The Count's trusted servant kills one of the men, suspending the body over the Count's ashes so that the blood drips from the corpse and saturates the blackened remains. The ritual is completed, the Count revived and his attentions focus on the dead man's wife who is to become his partner; devoted to an existence of depravity and evil.
