Während die World Wrestling Federation damit zu kämpfen hatte, daß Ted Turners Konkurrenzliga WCW ihr viele Topstars wegkaufte, begleitete ein Kamerateam mehrere Monate den WWF Star Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Dabei gibt es Einblicke hinter die Kulissen, wie sie bis dahin noch nie zu sehen waren. Unter anderem waren die Kameras backstage dabei, als WWF Besitzer Vince McMahon Bret beim unter Wrestlingfans berühmten "Montreal Screwjob" vor laufenden Kameras hinterging.

This documentary follows superstar Bret Hart during his last year in the WWF. The film documents the tensions that resulted in The Montreal Screwjob, one of the most controversial events in the history of professional wrestling, in which Vince McMahon, Shawn Micheals, and others, legitimately conspired behind the scenes to go against the script and remove Bret Hart as champion.
