Seit dem Unfalltod von Jos Vaters fällt seine Mutter ihm durch allerhand überprotektive Maßnahmen auf die Nerven. Und in der Schule wird der Streber von Klassengrobian Tom-Erik als Hausaufgaben-Sklave missbraucht und fortwährend gedemütigt. Schlechte Voraussetzungen für den 13-Jährigen, bei der bildhübschen neuen Schülerin Mari zu landen. So entscheidet sich der konfliktscheue Klassenbeste für windige Lügen, wofür er umgehend die Quittung erhält, denn Mari hasst Unehrlichkeit. Jos Plan, endlich populär zu werden, droht zu scheitern.

Thirteen year old Jo is a smart thinker of a guy, and has a very vivid imagination, but is bothered by his fellow classmates, and is a rather hopeless soccer goalie. Still he tries to cope with this difficult time in life. He's doing the homework of the "bad guy" in his class, son of a rich salesman of caravans.
