Im Zentrum von „Family Reunion“ steht Cocoa McKellan (Mowry), eine freigeistige Mutter aus Seattle. Gemeinsam mit ihrem Mann, dem früheren Footballspieler Moz (Anthony Alabi), und ihren vier Kindern reist sie zu ihrem Familientreffen in die Kleinstadt Columbus in Georgia. Dort lernen die McKellans ihre erweiterte Verwandtschaft kennen, von der sie nie ahnten, dass sie ihnen gefehlt hatte.

Family Reunion follows Cocoa McKellan, a free spirited mother from Seattle. When she and her former football-playing husband Moz and their four children travel from their home in the big city to the small town of Columbus, Georgia for the McKellan Family Reunion, they get to know an extended family they didn't even realize they were missing.
